Un-Knotted is a fast-casual cafe based in Montana that offers a variety of wholesome, hand-crafted foodstuffs to feed your cravings, whether you’re on the way to your next big adventure or simply looking for a place to unwind after a long day. With a passion for helping people eat healthfully wherever they are, founder Ashley Nelson decided to open Un-Knotted (a playful take on a familiar fly fishing term) so that she could not only offer quality, locally-inspired meals to those enjoying long days of outdoor adventuring, but also to those who simply want to drop into the cafe to savor good food in a relaxing, comfortable environment. We had the privilege of being a part of developing the brand, identity, promotional cards, social media assets and website. The hope was to create a brand that had a rich feel, while also still communicating ruggedness of Montana and wholesomeness of the food they offer.
The main logo was inspired by the love of exploration and the outdoors. The mark reflects this with icons illustrating wilderness and fly-fishing items.
An alternative “Getaway” mark was created to provide a face to the bed and breakfast service featured by Un-knotted. The typography and iconography style maintain a consistent look and feel that pairs with the main logo.
The website was designed with the mentality of showcasing the beauty that Montana has to offer, from both an environmental and culinary standpoint. The type and other visual elements create a simple, contemporary look and feel that allows the imagery to shine.
The print collateral follows suit with the web assets, presenting a rustic, yet clean and contemporary aesthetic.
