Messaging Dos and Don’ts

Tweak, Tailor, and Adjust Your Message For a New World

You don’t need us to tell you things are different now. Customers are finding your company differently and may want to use your company differently. In order to stay relevant and make an impact, your message has to change. Below are some Dos and Don’ts when it comes to updating your message.

Do…

  • Monitor your automation platforms and adjust any emails or scheduled posts that may feel tone-deaf at a time like right now. It’s also a good time to check your auto-reply systems and landing pages that you may have forgotten about. Update these platforms with more timely responses, email signatures, descriptions to ensure you are putting out the right message across the board.
  • Reassure your customers that you are there for them and working with them to provide some sort of relief whether it is a sale, free shipping, or a solution to make their lives better.

Don’t…

  • Come off inauthentic by not addressing the current climate.
  • Send a message just to send a message. The digital space is over-saturated with content right now. If you are promoting a message make sure to provide a CLEAR purpose and a solution to the receiver.

Your old messaging system may have worked previously, but it is more important than ever to take a look at your content and adjust for a new market with varying levels of realities.
