Recently Drew Davies, our Chief Creative Director at Rule29, had the opportunity to present and speak at Product Crunch — a monthly learning event for all things design! The topic of the month was “Design and Democracy.”
“Design really does make a difference — and it’s critical that we use the power of design to support democracy,” says Davies, whose inspiration for the presentation came from the election in 2000, which had ballots with critical design flaws that ultimately changed the outcome of the election and altered the course of American history.
For nearly 15 years, Rule29 has continued to work to improve the design of elections, from ballots and voter education to vote-by-mail envelopes and voter registration. We use the power of good design to help ensure that every citizen can vote in a usable, accessible, and trustworthy way.
